Abstract
Advances in Precision Medicine and Targeted Pharmacotherapy: A Comprehensive Review of Emerging Technologies, Clinical Applications, and Future Challenges
Bárbara Andrews, Joana Fonseca*
ABSTRACT
Precision medicine has rapidly evolved from a theoretical concept to a cornerstone of modern clinical and pharmaceutical sciences. The integration of multi-omics technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), biomarker-guided drug development, and innovative therapeutic modalities such as gene editing and mRNA platforms has ushered in a new era of individualized care. This review synthesizes recent advances in medical and pharmaceutical precision technologies, evaluates their translational and clinical applications, and examines ongoing limitations related to data integration, regulatory frameworks, and equity in access. We conclude with a forward-looking perspective on how next-generation computational modeling, real-time biological monitoring, and personalized drug manufacturing may redefine the therapeutic landscape.
