Abstract
Medication Strategies for Childhood Diseases: Exploring Pharmacological Advancements, Evidence Based Interventions, Safety Considerations, and Future Directions in Pediatric Therapeutics
Lutfey Wishner*, Steav Davidson
ABSTRACT
Medication use in children requires a meticulously structured approach that incorporates developmental physiology, dosage individualization, age-appropriate formulations, and robust systems of therapeutic monitoring. Pediatric patients exhibit unique pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic patterns that contrast substantially with adult populations, necessitating specialized drug development, clinical evaluation, and regulatory oversight. This review provides an integrative examination of medication use in children, emphasizing the multidimensional landscape of pediatric pharmacotherapy—encompassing therapeutic agent selection, pharmaceutical formulation science, clinical guideline implementation, and post-marketing pharmacovigilance. By synthesizing existing literature, global health frameworks, and contemporary therapeutic strategies, this review outlines the complexities inherent in pediatric medication management, highlights evidence-based approaches that promote safety and effectiveness, and identifies emerging innovations that may reshape the future of pediatric therapeutics. Keywords: Pediatric pharmacotherapy; Age-appropriate formulations; Medication safety; Pharmacovigilance; Pediatric dosing; Child health; Therapeutic guidelines; Adverse drug reactions; Caregiver education.
